Preface

University students are the one who will shape the future of a country. A competitive, creative and talented group of students are needed to fulfill the national education policy. Most of the students however thought that by striving in academics are enough to survive in the real working environment. However, other than excelling in academics, students should strengthen their soft skills in order to have a higher level of confidence.

In accordance to shaping a generation that is intellectual and globally competitive, “IPTS STUDENT LEADER SUMMIT” program is initiated by the
Students Representative Council 2008/2009 session of Universiti Tenaga Nasional. This program will be an eye opener to show people in general where UNITEN students especially are capable of organizing an international level program.

In addition, this summit will strengthen the bond between SRC
members of IPTS in Malaysia. During the two-days summit, several issues will be discussed to be brought forward to MPPK 2 which will be chaired by Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, Deputy Prime Minister cum Education Minister of Malaysia. Other than that, the objective of UNITEN SRC is to form an IPTS caucus so that it would be one strong union that would create a collaboration from multiple aspect which is good for the university and also generates professional leaders for the future.

Thus, the Student Representative Council session 2008/2009 of Universiti Tenaga Nasional, are proud to come forward as the first university to held hands with other IPTS SRC in Malaysia to form a caucus as a voice of all the IPTS students and to be a medium for all IPTS.
